Subject: First tri today!!Well I guess I can call myself a triathlete! I did the Iron Girl Columbia, MD this morning! I had a great swim and great bike but the leg I thought I would fly through since I am a runner.. was awful. I got off the bike and my quads immediately started cramping up.. once I started my run, it continued and they both were seizing! I found it very hard to keep running and ended up walking a good portion of the run..which was really disappointing to me.  BUT.. I did it and I want to do it again! A question for you guys.. when I came out of the water and was running to transition I all of a sudden had to throw up..so I spent a good few minutes of T1 throwing up behind a tree. I didn't really swallow much water..does this have anything to do with being in the swimming position for so long to standing up and running? Has this happened to anyone else? I had only had 3 bites of a Luna bar 3 hours before, so it definitely wasn't food as my problem. Thank you all for your advice these past few months!!!  |
