Subject: RE: Winter Training Partner nice name Jason, since mine also happens to be the same..........! i live in newville and started training for tri's this past january and completed 4 sprints this summer. pinchot, catfish, boiling springs, and chambersburg. my season got better as it went on. i can do about a 7:15 mile for a 5k race and 7:45 for 10k training. not running intervals yet, but that is my plan for winter to get faster in the run. the swim for me is about 1:45/100yds consecutively and i am already working getting that time down on this winter. but any pointers i can get, im all ears! i swim at the big spring high school 2 mornings a week. i have an indoor trainer for the bike and wil be riding that, but i would enjoy a ride partner from time to time. but out of the 3 events i would say that the bike is my strongest event. usually in the top 10-20% of bike split times in the races ive done (not bragging ). just riding a plain old roadie bike, no clip-ons. i wouldnt really have any advice to give you on the bike because i just get on it and go. all my riding consists of cadence. thats all i watch while training, and for me, i think that helped me on the road. anywhere from 85-95 rpms. anyhow, you want to get out sometime, let me know. i dont know if you are still in the shipp area, but i frequently ride 174 (walnut bottom road ) into shipp. |
