Hey guy and girls,

My name is Jason, I just started doing Tri's this year and love them. Already looking to see what I can put in the schedule for next year. I just finished the Blueman in Reading, PA, finished 3rd in my age group. I've also done the TriCat in Harrisburg (50th overall) & Tri the Wildwoods in Wildwood, Nj (74th overall).

Really I'm looking to see if there is anyone guy or girl, i dont care, in the area who would want to train every once and a while just for a change of pace. I just graduated from SHIP and I swam there and have been swimming competatively since I was 6. So I'm a very strong swimmer and willing to help people out with stroke and technique and training. I'm a fairly strong runner, can hold 6:30 pace for 5 miles. Biking on the otherhand is not my strong point. I'm usually top 3 out of the water then get destroyed in the Bike and catch people in the run.

If anyone is interested in training every once and a while let me know.

Hi Jason,

You would destroy me in the water and run but I may be able to keep up with you on the bike.  Otherwise, I would welcome the opportunity to train with someone.  If you ever have a high volume but slow pace day, let me know and I'll go.  I just don't know if you really want to change that pace to "slow."  LOL

I'd be down for a change of pace sometime. Maybe some longer distances at a slower pace is fine by me, would actually be real good for my biking. Maybe we can set a day up sometime. It's more motivating in the winter months to have someone to train with. HA

nice name Jason, since mine also happens to be the same..........!
i live in newville and started training for tri's this past january and completed 4 sprints this summer.  pinchot, catfish, boiling springs, and chambersburg.  my season got better as it went on.
i can do about a 7:15 mile for a 5k race and 7:45 for 10k training.  not running intervals yet, but that is my plan for winter to get faster in the run.  the swim for me is about 1:45/100yds consecutively and i am already working getting that time down on this winter.  but any pointers i can get, im all ears!  i swim at the big spring high school 2 mornings a week.
i have an indoor trainer for the bike and wil be riding that, but i would enjoy a ride partner from time to time.  but out of the 3 events i would say that the bike is my strongest event.  usually in the top 10-20% of bike split times in the races ive done (not bragging).  just riding a plain old roadie bike, no clip-ons.  i wouldnt really have any advice to give you on the bike because i just get on it and go.  all my riding consists of cadence.  thats all i watch while training, and for me, i think that helped me on the road.  anywhere from 85-95 rpms.
anyhow, you want to get out sometime, let me know.  i dont know if you are still in the shipp area, but i frequently ride 174 (walnut bottom road) into shipp.
