Total Time = 31m 30s

Age Group Rank = 18/18
Pre-race routine:

Woke up about 6am, had two pieces of wheat toast and ANPB/Jelly. Drank a bunch of water and grabbed my gear. Out the door to pick up my mom and ate a Cliff Bar on the way to the race. Drank more water.
Event warmup:

Walked around for a bit and had to get my registration squared away, they didn't have me on the list. Christine and Tom found me right away, then we saw Jeff and Terri after I put on my BT tattoo. Then we met up with Vinny, my mom noticed he looked very familar. Then we put 2 and 2 together and mulitplied it by PI and realized he dated my sister about 11 years ago.
Anouncer says 10 minutes till the start and I see the line for the rest rooms is looong. Well I made it with 2 minutes to spare.

Comments:

I felt really good for the first half. Christine and I passed eachother a few times, then I was all about trying to keep up with her. That lasted until about the 2.5 mile mark. Glad to see 2 water stations. For some reason my necklace was bouncing all over, not that it slowed me down, it was just anoying. I finally go to see other BTers during the race. Saw Jeff as he was on teh final stretch, Vinny about 2 minutes later, and waved to Christine at our turn back towards the finish. She was exiting the turn as I entered. Soon after I saw Terri. Traded yells and waves with everyone. This was a great race today. BTers IN BLACK ROCK!!!
What would you do differently?:

Train more and better, maybe its time to start working in some speed intervals. I did 2 new things on race day, lucky for me both worked out great. I downed a Cliff Bar on the way to the race, and ran with a new pair of shorts today. I was lucky there were no problems.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to the drinks and gasped for air. Went back to my fellow BTers to cheer on Terri as she came in. Lots of food and drinks today.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just myself. I just have to put more into my training, I'm sure years of inactivity and improper diet doesn't help.

Event comments:

Everything went great today. I was amazed by the food and drinks post race. I loved seeing everyone during the race. The Smoothie King tablw was "YUMMY" to everyone in one way or another. This was a great day all around.

So much for ever going undercover.  Don't worry the sub 30 5K can't hide forever.
