Is anyone doing the Athlete for a cure tri at disney in september? This used to be the disney tri. I looked at the course map and the run and swim are like last year and the bike is a little different then last year this year it is back to a 40k last year it was 36 miles. But the price went up this year it's 150.00 which i think is a little pricey.just wondering who all was going to do it.

i'm in.....already sent in my registration.   will be my first Oly.   did you do this last year or any other year?  i hear the run is a bit testy because it's a bit "offroad".    that true?

I already signed up as well. And it is going to be my first oly too. If anyone wants to get together and do the ride I would love to get familiar with the course.

Edited to say I have heard the run course is on and off road and is challenging like a trail run. I have heard a lot of people complain about it. IMO everyone runs the same course so I am not too worried about it. I am doing more trail running leading up to this for that very reason though.

This is going to be my first Oly too. I would love to ride the course before the big day. Let me know if/when you'll be doing it. I'm also doing the Assault on Sugarloaf the weekend before. I know that's Clermont but thought it would be a good way to get ramped up.

I have also signed up. This is my third Olympic Tri. I am looking forward to one where the swim in not in the Gulf or Atlantic. If anyone is training in the Fort Myers/Naples area let me know.

 Thanks,

That's great!! We should all try and meet up beforehand. I'm heading to the Tri solo so it would be good to have people to meet up with.

If anyone wants to ride the bike course. Saturdays are usually pretty flexible for me so let me know. I hate to be the one to schedule the day and then nobody can make it. I have a long ride this Sat the 9th but after that I am open.

I'm doing it. I did the HIM in May here. I assume the run course is more less the same.

At the HIM we did three loops on bike trails and offroad. I didn't so much like the offroad part, since I had done all my training on paved roads or treadmill. But after while you get used to it.

It is very hot out there, a ton of people were taken to the med tent during the event. While this won't be as challenging as an HIM, the sun is every bit as brutal. So make sure you grab a water or two at every station, it will be important.

But the bike course should be fairly flat and the swim is very nice, if you like that sort of thing.
