Subject: Do You Want to Adopt a Kitten?

Or know someone that does?

I posted in CoJ earlier this month and should've posted here sooner.  I'm watching two of the 3 kittens I have been fostering since labor day wrestle with each other now, it is AWESOME!

But I cannot keep them. We REALLY need to find them homes.  We have them posted on PetFinder via a local rescue group and on our vet's website.  And I post an ad on craigslist every week.  We have placed fliers around town and reached out to some rescue groups, but it clearly isn't enough.  PLEASE, really, I am begging and I'm not ashamed to say that I am, please forward this email to anyone you know - whether they have a cat, a dog, or kids or none of the above, they may know someone that knows someone that wants a cat or two (or 3!).  The one that was adopted out (we called her Edgie) went to someone that had just lost his cat.  You never know...

Here's the deal on all of the kitties (see attacheed pix).

Allow me to introduce U2, Feline Style!
Bono is male Orange Tabby
Addie is a female Black/White Tuxedo
Lara is a female Black/Brown Tabby
(Edgie was adopted)
Spay/Neuter: Bono yes, others very soon
FELV/FIV Negative; Vaccinations Yes
Age: ~5 months

We have had someone that has been flaking on us for a few weeks on taking Bono, the male orange tabby.  He is just the sweetest most affectionate thing and she has no idea what she's missing out on.  He is sitting next to me on the couch as I type this with one paw on my arm and purring nonstop. Lara is the runt with very cool markings and a sweet disposition - she may be shy at first but she is not a scaredy cat.  We let Burton our cat visit with them and she always follows him even after he corners her and she's turned upside down and submissive, she doesn't shy away from him.  Addie is very chill - she and Lara sleep together on the windowsill all the time. She doesn't seem to be bothered by Burton.  They all love the cat dancer and feather on a stick.  I have had different friends visit them and they don't run and hide - they are social and friendly.  They all know how to use the cardboard scratching post and litter box.  They will all do fine in a home with other cats or dog(s) that like/are used to cats.  They are not bothered by Spacey (our dog) or Burton in the least.

So we have been fostering these kittens since Labor Day where they were abandoned in Sherman Oaks Park.  We REALLY REALLY need to adopt them to a good home. We have a dog and a cat already and our landlord will not let us keep another 3 cats here long term.  We don't want to have to bring them to a shelter either.  If someone wants to meet them, we live in Sherman Oaks right off the 101.

Anyone that is remotely interested, please have them contact us here:

Addie looks like one cool cat! Aw! If I lived in Cali near you I'd take one! Really! I hope you find some homes for them. My two kitties came from shelters and so grateful they were not euthanized. Pets are like family!

Come on peeps! Who wants more 'family' to love out there in Sunny California?!?

Lara looks like our Dizzy! I wish we could take one (or more) but we have our hands full with four as it is. Good luck finding homes for them!

How do you do it with four?  OMG, taking care of 5 animals right now is HARD!  Kitties are crazy messy!!  The dog and the cat are about what I can handle - my cat is such a pain in the arse but at the same time a sweetheart, so i tolerate him

It's not *too* much different from, say, two... we go through more food, there's more fur everywhere, there's a greater chance that we'll be woken up by meowing in the morning, and the litter box needs cleaning more frequently. The tricky part comes when one of them gets sick and has to be sequestered from the others.

THEY'RE ALL GONE!  WOOHOOO!!!

They were delivered to their new homes last night.  Bono, the orange tabby, is now in the capable hands of our very own RevBigDog!  To say that his kids are thrilled is an understatement.    And the two girls, Lara (who will now be called Lily) and Addie (who may or may not have a new name) have gone to their new home in Encino.

YAY!

I'm sure there will be more animals that we find and foster in the future, either on our own or thru a rescue group.  We tried following a stray dog w a collar and no tags the other night, but we lost sight of him.    Clearly these cats were not the first for us...ADOPT don't buy an animal!  (stepping off soap box now)

Kids are definitely pumped.  Our other kitty Buddy is still feeling things out.  Feels a bit put out I am sure.  But Bono is a little lover.
