Subject: RE: Hello from AZ Hey Jessica, I'm pretty new here too, but I've quickly found there's a great group of athletes here that are more than willing to help with ideas and motivation. And there's plenty of tips to be found online for free as well. Congrats on your decision to take up this great sport. Remember the nervousness will pass with preparation, and confidence will come with training. Like I mentioned to Janie in another thread, your main competitor is YOURSELF...race within your abilites, come to the finish with a little extra in the tank and you'll be psyched up to enter your 2nd triathlon in no time. Ask lots of questions here, get ideas from everyone else as to what they are doing for training. Try some of those ideas out. Some will work for you, some won't, so use the ones that keep you motivated. The thing that always makes me feel good, no matter what the training or how strong I feel, is to always end a training session with a little energy left over. Any time I have the feeling of "Well, I could have done more today...", it's a good sign that I'm looking forward to the next session. Don't beat yourself up during training and you'll do just fine. And keep us informed as to how things are going!
