I don't know if it was accurate but I just can't stay in my Aerobars when going downhill that fast. I have to put my hands within close reach of my brakes. I was laying forward so far, my chest was hitting the forearm rests. |

Could have been a different hill, but the profile was the same. Frankly can't remember which finger lake we were on. Road bike, no motorpacing or drafting. Just me. The crazy part is that on the same ride, a guy I know (jim scorse) went down the same hill at 67.6. Three other guys were were pulling him down that friggin hill. That's friggin ba-nanas. Oh, and here's 4 more pages of top speed stories. |

I don't have a computer on my bike but even with me running out of gear before on my road bike, the fastest I've probably been was on my BMX bike when I was 15 down an epic hill. Doing my tri today I noticed a lot of people seem to be scared of going fast. People would just run me down in the flat and uphill but when they got to a steep hill they'd stop peddling and coast. Maybe it's a strategy but I don't see the benefit. I'll have to get one soon. |
