Comments:

took two power gel and some water. very slow as cramps started at 18km. At 19km I could hardly walk and have to walk slowly to the finishing line.
What would you do differently?:

take isotonic drinks or water with some salt added to get rid of the cramps and train more. have not been running for long distance before event for quite a while

Sorry about your cramp. Did you run the full distance of 42k?  THats a very good time of 2.5 hours if you cramped badly at less than half way....

Ha Ha !How I wish this was so. No lah only half marathon......Yes some of the fastest runners just take only less than 2.5 hours to do a full marathon. I have problems completing a half marathon at half their speed....

Don't worry Steven. 99% of the world's population probably share the same problem as you!

Work hard dude. Running takes alot of work. But it always pays off.  But remember that running is also the one activity that has the greatest chance of an injury.

I ran the Singapore Marathon....all 42.125 km of it.....in 2000....that was my first.

Hopefully, I'll be back to give it a second shot next year.

See you guys at the starting line?

Steven - well done on running so far! Inspiring! I am happy because I have now run 10kms and that is the best I have done so far! I aspire to complete a half marathon and maybe even a full one one day in the future!
Hooray for you!

Personally,  I think it will be better for you to aim for the Singapore Marathon next December.  I don't know whats your mileage base right now, but thats what I suggest.  3 odd months is hardly enough and would only get yourself into trouble.  Trust me,  you don't want to have a nagging injury.   Been there.

But....what do I know?

Take care and safe training.
