Subject: training pace vs race pace. On race day I always turn in faster times on the bike and the run compared to training pace. When it comes to the swim, I am always slower (way slower ) WTF? Today, I did 3300yrds total 100 warm up, 6 sets of 500, and 200 cool down. My 100avg was 1m39s I know that pace isn't a blistering speed but its pretty d@mn fast for me. I hope I can get the mental part of the swim under control and when I do maybe I will perform better at the swim on race day along with the other two events. How does everyone else perform on race day compared to training?
