Pre-race routine:

Coffee with and some hot cereal with 1/2 a bagel...it was a half marathon after all don't you know!

Event warmup:

got to the site and hit the porta-potties. Jumped around a little.

Comments:

My wife and a friend were in the rely and I ran the full 1/2. They wanted me to run with them on their respective legs of the run, I was more than happy to do that since I had my gall bladder out just 10 days ago. Expectations were very low for time! That's OK it was a cool day, sunny a little breeze and great running partners.

What would you do differently?:

Not have gall bladder surgery 10 days before! Run with only my race as a concern.

Warm down:

Light stretches and some walking. It was nice not being absolutely bagged at the end of a race...I kind of liked that!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental effort was up there to keep to an easier than normal pace...it is tough to see a lot of people passing you and not pick it up a little.
