Subject: Race entries up for grabs! (Seattle area)

I posted this in the Washington forum, but thought I should post here as well (with an edit -- thank you Medusa Ann) to give any one who doesn't go into that forum, or might be traveling to the area on these dates a shot at it...

I just got back from the podiatrist... 2 more weeks before I can even wear a normal shoe to walk. I can start riding the trainer in two weeks... No running, no swimmin... The "good" news is that I'm officially off crutches, but I have to wear the boot for another week, and then I can wear my MTB shoes to walk in (no toe movement allowed).

SO...

I have one entry each for the Moses Lake Triathlon on June 7th (choose Olympic or Sprint), and the Five Mile Lake Triathlon  on June 14th (Sprint), that I will bestow upon a lucky BTer. I'd kind of prefer that they not both go to the same person, but if only one person replies...

Here's how I'm going to do it. A contest of sorts. I'll decide the winner in one week's time (May 6th, 9 pm Pacific time). How to enter? Reply to this thread with the most humorous on-the-bike photo (of yourself) you can muster. I'll leave it up you to figure out the rest. Make me laugh, and you can get a free race entry.

One photo enters for one race (tell me which one when you post), and I'll pick one from each group for that race.

So, post away!

And I'll gladly give any race knowledge I have for the Five Mile Lake tri (I've done the race twice, and I used to live right near the course and trained there all the time), though I won't be able to attend the race this time (as I did for Mt Rainier).

Subject: 33 hours to go!

Okay folks, only 33 hours left. Where are all the "I want a freebie race" people?

And to update, I'm "kinda" walking normally now. Mountain bike shoes (oh, the horror). No cushioning at all, but they fit the doc's requirement of "stiff". Just got back a little while ago from a walk outside. Not fast (the shoes and foot won't allow it yet, not that I'm limited aerobically), but it was nice out, so I just enjoyed being able to walk "like a normal person". I'll get to be on the trainer starting next week.

You could still post an entry and *not* say which race it's for...
