Trouble regestering with Active.com

  I know that most people register for events through active.com so I was hoping someone can help me with this problem.  I created my active account today, and then I tried to register for a local event.  After I found the event, I clicked the "Register Now" button then it keeps sending me to a page that says "For added security, please re-enter the password you just logged in with before completing one of the options below."and then below that it says "You can associate your accounts by entering the Password of your other account and click GO."  The problem is that every time I enter my information, and I have tried every possible combination, it says invalid username.  Now if I click "Feel free to skip this step." I move on to the next step in registration for the event. Has anyone also had this problem?  I don\t want to have any troubles on event day.  It is hard to get in touch with the Active.com staff so I was hoping someone here could help me.
