Subject: WWUD? (what would you do?)
I just need some advice please. My A race is most likely going to be cancelled. That race was scheduled for 9/27. I've been following an Oly training plan from Matt Fitzgerald's triathlon training plan book. My A race was supposed to be an oly (my first oly). I have a longer sprint scheduled for 9/13. My question to you is: do I make that 9/13 my new A race and then switch training plans and just jump in whatever week that would be in the plan? Or do I just stick with my oly plan that I'm doing now....
The A race that I was going to do was denied permission by the DNR for the swim. The race site has stopped registrations. I am not optimistic about this... Thanks for your opinions!

Some random thoughts:

Find another Oly if possible.

If the sprint becomes your "A" race, continue the oly training.  The training will make that sprint that much "easier".  Just include a taper week before the race.

My first thought was to find another olympic but it does not look like there are many races at all in Indiana (trifind shows 85).  I guess I am spoiled living in Texas where tri find list 335 races this year.

That being that I say just continue with the olympic plan and use the Sprint as your A race.

I think that is exactly what I will do. The first thing I did was to look for another Oly race within 4 hours. None to be had here in IN. So, I will continue my oly training plan, taper a bit the week before the sprint, and then run some local 10k road races! Thanks!!
