Subject: Ironman Wisconsin

Is anyone local to the KC area planning on signing up for IMWi? I'm planning on it if I can get it done before it sells out, and would be wanting some training partners to hook up. Anyone else in?

Guess you are talking 2009? I am doing it this year and will probably sign up for next year and do it with my brother-inlaw! I signed up on the internet last October and the event was sold out in 20 minutes.

Your best bet on getting registered is to go volunteer or watch. Race participants register Saturday before the race. Monday after the race volunteer's register first, second are at site registrations, then on-line registrations if they are left. Most IM events are selling out before on-line registration this year.

Maybe more information than you wanted or needed, good luck registering.

I tried to Register. I did not make it. It sold out in 4 Minutes. I called NA Sports. It now is basically the most popular race and always sells out this fast. I am planning on Louisville Now. 5 people from the Topeka area got in. As my credit card was processing it sold out.

Keep watching the IM Wisconsin site after September 21st. That is the date all pre-registered 2008 participants must pay. Sometimes a large enough quantity of pre-registered racers decides to skip the race and NA Sports seels those slot's. This is happening at IM Canada right now.

Congrats! This will be my first full Ironman. I did a half last year down in Austin (before it became an official 70.3). I'll be looking for some training partners as the time grows near to start getting serious if you're interested!

I got in through one of the Community Fund Slots. There are 400 of those. It cost $1300. It is a donation for a juvenile athletic fund for Madison. There are 4 people from Topeka Triathletes(T2) going. We have a good group of people. Can't wait. I am a IM Virgin.

Training partners would be great!!!! Its always much easier to get out there when you have someone to meet and keep you motivated! What part of town are you in?
