Subject: New To memphis and Mud Island
Hi

I am new to Memphis and was wondering any suggestions for good road bike routes and running routes. I live on Mud Island.

Right now I run on Mud Island and over to the parks on the river. Might head out to Overton Park but the loop in there is small. Basically right now training 100% for St. Jude Marathon.

You might also check some of the online mapping programs like Mapmyride ( http://www.mapmyride.com/ ), Mapmyrun ( http://www.mapmyrun.com/) Bikely ( http://www.bikely.com/) or Favoriterun ( http://www.favoriterun.com/). You can search for routes by location. Also for running info check out Memphis Runners Track Club: http://www.memphisrunners.com/

chris, welcome. Hwy 64 aand hacks cross to oakland and summerville has a posted bike route. Its a nice rolling hill ride with decent scenery for this area. You can 30,40, 50 miles round trip.The only problem with the route i have found is that i have changed a lot of flat tires due to the small debri on the shoulder.As far as runs , i run around east memphis walnut grove and shady grove area, not to familer with mud island.
