So I am thinking about getting a subscription to one of the leading tri mags, in your humble opinions which is the one to get? Especially interested in one with the beginner in mind.

There are some good magazines out there that you can subscribe to, but I would suggest just going to your nearest retail bookstore and looking at what they carry. Instead of subscribing to just one, I would suggest that you each month pick up a copy of the one that has articles that will benefit you the most. Some months, you might buy two magazines and some months none, but you want just be stuck with what comes in the mail.

There are a lot of online resources that are very beneficial such as Beginner Triathlete that you can pick up valuable advice from.

right on mike!  i'll do what it takes to get what i need free..usually online.  many publications r online now.   I have never looked through any tri mags and i have not a clue if they r tailored to beginners or elitists.  a good main library may carry issues.

All right, all right... I will not subscribe. Of course I use the internet and www.beginnertiathlete.com, especially, as the premier source of triathlon information. You guys are great. I just wish I could quit my job and do this for a living.

Don't get me wrong I have magazines stacked up in the corner, but I just don't subscribe to any of them -----yet. Something I also did that worked out great was bought back issues off of e-bay. I just think that sometimes we can buy into who has the flashy cover and the next month another magazine has a flashy cover and the best article. If you like one over the other subscribe to it and then tell us about the great article. If my wife and I can get my son out of daycare, I can afford to subscribe to every magazine out there.
