Subject: Creating Goals for next season!
Hello!

So my first Tri season ends in two weeks (20th of Sept)! I'm meeting with my coach this Wednesday to discuss strength training, nutrition, and next seasons goals.

I was wondering you all could help me with suggestion as far as goals go, so that i dont over look anything. I have ideas of races, but what are the other things i should look at, times within each of the disciplines, gear (i.e. areo helmet, race wheels, power meter), looking to go up to olys...what about sponsorship (can getting sponsors be a goal)? I'm not really sure...

Current Goal Thoughts -

1. Obviously nothing is possible without sticking with the training!

2. Races - Compete in Oly, winning AG and overall, Collegiate Nationals (sprint), AG Nationals...idk

What else should i be looking at as far as goals go?

Thanks

some thoughts:

  • individual time goals for entire race or individual sport
  • area of focus (weak sport, technique, skills, etc)
  • local sponsors  (off season is the time to go after sponsors for 2009)

I usually pick races that will allow me a chance hit the time goals I want to hit for the year.

Things like AG wins or even Overall are hard for age groupers since you never know who is showing up anyway. Which is why time goals are the best.
