Subject: Upcoming race, need advice on possible taperI have my first tri coming up a week from this Sunday. It's a sprint distance and while I have a goal of finishing in under 1:30, this is a "B" race and I have been intending to do it as a hard training day. Given that, I'm wondering if I should even taper for it or not. My training for the week of the race is as follows: Monday: B-1hour Tuesday: R-45min/S-2,800m Wednesday:B-1.25 hour Thursday: R-50min/S-2,800m Friday: OFF Saturday: Brick(B-1hour/R-25min)/ S-2,900m Sunday(race day): R-30min I'm thinking that if I don't really need to taper that I can just change my off day to Saturday and move Saturday's brick to Friday. This would give me a whole day off and I think I'd be good to go for Sunday. Anybody able to offer any advice on whether or not I should taper and if you think I should how would I adapt my training for the week? Thanks! |
