Subject: Thank you all for the wetsuit adviceI swam my warm up in my wetsuit yesterday in prep for my sprint next Sunday. I used the advice I got here for making sure I pulled enough slack into the shoulders, and it was MUCH more comfortable and easy to swim. Another added benefit was the suit was further up my legs, so I didn't feel like my legs were just plopped on top of the water, and I was able to kick more effectively. Thanks!! The only weirdness was I felt like there were air pockets in the back while swimming, but that did not affect anything. To get rid of that feeling, should I do like I do while diving and open the neck seal, when I first get in, or just accept it and go with it. In diving the purpose of doing that is to get rid of air, so buoyancy is negated a little for getting down easier and keeping trim levels even. For triathlons though, I'd imagine that's not the optimum way to go, correct? |
