Subject: New Central AR Road Race: The Great Gobbler 5K in Maumelle

I know there aren't a lot of us in Central Arkansas on here, but wanted to pass this along ...

My running club, "The Hot Legs" are putting on our first road race, The Great Gobbler 5K in Maumelle on November 15, 2008. All proceeds are going to the Ms. Molly Foundation which supports local domestic violence resources including the Dorcas House and the Women and Children First Shelter. If you're looking for a nice Fall run to support an excellent cause, please come out and support this fledgling event!

I haven't seen the official course, it hasn't been certified yet (but will be), but I know that it will be leaving the lake area and hitting the road since we're needing Maumelle Police to help with closing streets, marshalling intersections etc. The Lake location was mainly chosen because they have *real* restrooms which is nice for a start and finish and facilities for the awards ceremony.

And the first 25 finishers get a cool toy turkey! Seriously, it's going to be fun!
