It's going to be rather hectic (and cold!) Sunday morning!  Jeepers, I just checked - now I see that the marathon has filled along with the 5 man relay and the half!!

What timing chutes will people be in?

I'm going to be in 1:45 (or the 1:50?) chute - I'm running the half.  Will anyone else be nearby?

Might as well find somone to chat with while I wait in the cold!

I can't recall what estimated finishing time I gave when I registered and it doesn't look like its on my email confirmation.  Also, I think that the time I gave is probably slower than what I'm capable of now.  Does anyone know if you can change it at packet pick-up?

Can anyone who ran it in previous years tell me how the starting chutes are set up?  For example, how many are there and what times are they set up for (i.e. what range of times are thewre for each chute)?

Im not running it this year, but I know last year I went in whatever chute I felt like that day regardless of what I had put when I signed up. All the other people I was with did the same, so I dont think they watch it too much.

^^^^I agree.  Basically you hop in whatever chute you want - there are no chute police.   I want to say the chutes go by 5 minute intervals.

Back in the day - prior to the inclusion of the half - the race started in front of Tiger Stadium and we just "lined up".  The Detroit Marathon has come a long ways in a short period of time!

What will you be wearing?  I can try and locate you before the start.  FWIW, I'll be wearing some Obama support gear on the back of my shirt so I shouldn't be hard to spot.   Yeah, I'm cool like that.

If I can get in the 1:45 chute I will.  When I signed up I guessed a finish time of 1:51...my goal is 1:45 and I think its doable.

I'm probably going to finish closer to 1:50 than 1:45 but if I'm going to hit my goal of sub 1:50 I need to get out of the blocks fast.

Mitch, so your shorts will have "US Navy" on them?  I'll be looking!  Although I hope people don't get the wrong idea - heh!

Ok.  Compuware shirt in the 2hr chute.  Got it!

Ok... grey Under Armour.  Got it.  If we are both in the 1:45 chute we should be able to locate each other I think!

I may be wearing a red long sleeve running shirt over my under armour.  Will also have on a Nike running hat.  Good luck!
