This question is for CGI:

The registration page from Lin-Mark offers

Race Day Packet Pickup (each) : $10.00

Does that mean that it is no longer an absolute necessity to pick up the day before and for the $10 fee we can pick up same day?

Larry or Michele will chime in here, but that was my understanding as well. There used to be no race day packet pickup, this allows the option for an extra fee to the first 200 (I think).

However...since you are local, wouldnt you want to get everything the day before? That way you know you have the right numbers, you can check over everything, and it eliminates one more thing to do on race morning. I would only choose this option if I am driving in that morning and don't want to head up the night before. Just my 2 pesos.

I'm thinking about Black Bear which is about 2 hours by car from me and if I do it - I might stay the night before but am not sure of my financial situation so lower budget would be to wake up extra early and drive up in the dark morning.  For NJ Tri - assuming I do it - it is probably more economical to pick up day before for me unless gas goes up to $10 a gallon.

Good point on Black Bear, bob.

Although..I HATE the drive up the day of approach. But, sometimes it helps to extend the race budget

FWIW: I am staying at the country suites right down the road from the race site, and its pretty reasonable. The italian restaurant right down the road isnt bad either for a pre-race dinner..and cheap as hell.

For my first Half Iron (Devilman), I drove down and back on race day.  3 hrs each way.  Longer in the car than in the race.  But, it was ok.  This way I got up, had a good pre-race breakfast which was completely digested by the time I got there.   In the car, I hydrated alot.  Had a good race too.

You are correct sir! We will limit it if too many people decide to do it. We figured about 20% would want it and that seems to be how it's running right now.
