I was just reading over the Athlete Information Guide for IMFL.  Here is a copy / paste of one of the rules:

Shoes and helmet must be in your Swim to Bike

gear bag. Shoes may not be on or beside your bike. Shoes

and shirt must be worn at all times.

So if I am reading this correctly you have to run to and from the changing tent in your bike shoes and can't keep them attached to your bike?

Does anyone else have a perspective here?

That's how they did it at IMoo. Only pros could have their shoes pre-clipped in. I ran with my shoes in my hand, got my bike, ran to the mount line and had a volunteer hold my bike while I put my shoes on really quickly. It was pretty easy.

You are reading it correctly.

As far as "Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times" goes, I think that shorts are implied in this statement as well.

Oh...and I left them clipped on when I finished the bike. No problem with that, it seems.
