Subject: No Mavic wheels for PowerTap??

I've found a good deal on a powertap, but will obviously need to get the wheel, my bike shop says there are no Mavic wheels you can use for a powertap and I noticed on the Saris website they don't list any either....  For some reason I thought the 32 spoke Open Pro was a wheel that you could have the PT hub put in...  I realize that my Askium 20 Bladed spokes dont' work but was hoping to get an Open Pro wheel for the new powertaps...

Any info otherwise... other wheel options???

You can lace an Open Pro to a PT. Mavic doesn't sell them that way, but anybody who can build a wheel can put it together for you. We've sold a number of those set-ups.

Mavic sells the Cosmic Carbone (Pro and SL) in a PowerTap configuration. $2235 for the SL (clincher) and $2465 for the Pro (tubular).

JeepFleeb - 2008-10-23 12:35 PM Yep, it's really common to see Mavic Open Pro paired with a PowerTap.  Carbone PT hubs are new for '09.

thanks Coach... (i've been dying to say that one

My PowerTap 2.4SL hub came with a Mavic Open wheel.  I purchased it from Bike Doctor USA.  Been very, very happy with it.

I had wheelbuilder.com build mine PT up to a Mavic CXP33.
