Veteran  145   Hudson, OH |  Subject: Moving to Akron area...Can anyone give me some tips regarding the Akron area? We are moving and looking at Hudson right now. Hubby will be working in Akron. We have two kids (2 yrs old and 8 months old) and I am looking for a SAFE place, a good school system, and someplace where there are things to do - parks, places to ride my bike and run, etc... For what its worth, we live in SW MI right now, where the Steelhead is based.. thats the kinda town we live in now.. And I LOVE it here. But I am sure I will love wherever we move. |

For elementary public schools if you will be living in Akron, King schools gets very high marks and it's free - I think the highest in the district and state...my kids just started there...all other Akron elementary school kid parents want to get their kid here through open enrollement - no worries if you live in the King district. Not sure about Hudson schools...though I think the avg income is higher as it is more upper class. Where is your husband working? As far as parks, the whole 'Metroparks' for Summit County is very awesome. http://www.summitmetroparks.org for trails and maps.
