Run
Comments: I walked up the steepest hills - I'm just not in good enough shape to run up steep hills yet. I did manage to find 'extra steam' when running back down the hills. What would you do differently?: more hill training - as usual. Post race
Warm down: had to jump in the car and get my son to soccer... What limited your ability to perform faster: training. It's that simple Event comments: This was my first ever trail run AND my first ever 10k. I had my doubts. Even while running I had my doubts. But I did it. I really did it. The course is 2 loops and after I finished the first loop, I had talked myself out of the second one but everyone at the finish line was so encouraging and my son was there - I went for it. At several spots in the second loop, I gave myself permission to quit. Just turn around and walk back out of the woods. I kept giving myself small goals and finally DID reach the finish line - all 10k's under my belt! And I wasn't last. a couple minutes after I finished, 2 more runners came in. And there were several runners who didn't finish. I'm proud of my run. I CAN do this! Last updated: 2008-11-09 12:00 AM
