Just wondering if anyone knows if their are any good tri bike fitters in Montreal. I`ll be going there probably within the next month or so and I am hoping to get a good bike fit.

Just to get my coordinates, because I won`t have my bike there. Then I can adjust my bike accordingly..if that makes any sense.

Thanks

You might want to have a look at this place:

Pierre fitted my bike and I am very satisfied. His track record is quite impressive. I would definitely argue towards bringing the bike though. It would greatly improve the bang for your buck.

Thanks,

I`ll have a look to see what they offer, but bringing my bike there is not an option unfortunately.

Maybe what I am looking to do is just not really possible, but from what I thought I understood about F.I.S.T is that they can measure your body to figure out your stack and reach and all that stuff and then you can then in turn fit the bike to those specs....am I right?

I liked the fitting of Mathieu Giguère at "La Boutique Courir" on Boulv. Saint Denis a lot.

I understand that you don't want to bring your bike along. Definitely a hassle. Having said that I am not sure if a bike fitting really works, well, without a bike.

Without any doubt a fitter can take measurements of your body and tell you e.g. what height your seat post should have. But you could do this on your own. If you spend one hour on Google and do some research you will find a lot of formulas, etc. "Take you inseam and multiply it with factor x".

But these are just "statistical" values. In a bike fitting session you will be on your bike, pedaling, and you will get and immediate feedback from your body and the fitter.

Take care

YouYou, Montreal

Thanks very much YouYou,

I guess measurements and body type or whatever is what I was looking for. I guess i`ll start looking around to see what I can find out. I was reading through the fit articles on slowtwitch, and at the end of it all it basically just gives you a formula that you can use after you get your measurements and such from a fitter...and the angles to put your seat, and distance from seat to bars and seat height...but nothing more then that..

I`ll keep looking,

Thanks again,

Miguel
