...and probably for a couple weeks. loved the last mix, but needed a change, and was craving new and old. so, i went on itunes and downloaded some of the tunes recommended in inside triathlon magazine (http://www.insidetri.com/downloads). november's mix and (most of) lori bowden's playlist. new stuff i've never really listened to but already like, like venus hum and the killers, coldplay, the offspring. fun to have new ear candy. then i went a little nuts with songs i loved about 10 years ago - green day, the presidents, tracy bonham, no doubt. here's my list this week:

I was JUST getting ready to make a new playlist last night, when I heard "Dancing With Myself", and I got so fired up I changed my whole plan and made a list with songs that made me feel like a peppy high schooler again, including,
love shack, b52's,
You Spin me right round, dead or alive,
come dancing- kinks
every body dance now C+C music fac
Whip it-devo
once in a lifetime- talking heads
opposites attract-paula abdul
that's all I can remember from work, but it was so fun and so cheesy and those songs made me feel so youthful-- on gray days when my ass muscles are in so much pain from riding I can barely sit on my chair at work, feeling youthful is a Good Thing.

I love my playlists. My Rowdy Girls Running playlist actually has me smiling and running all at the same time -something I NEVER thought would happen. It includes:

It's Raining Men
Girls Just Want to Have fun
I Will Survive
Jump
Do You Love Me -now that I can dance?
You Don't Own Me
Holding Out for a Hero
So You Want to be a Rock and Roll Star
Where Have All the Cowboys Gone?
I Sing the Body Electric

I think the only conclusion to be drawn here is that I'm a musically stunted feminist from the 70s, who wants both a cowboy and a hero. Who probably aren't the same person , since -after all- it's raining men. TOTALLY not like me, but it makes me smile!

Just so you know there's musical hope for me, I also have playlists entitled World Music, Save the World music (I'm a social worker. I can't help it.), Feminist Anthems, and Grown-Up Lullabies.
