Subject: starting a tri training program, need adviceI posted this in the introduction section, but I'm hoping I might get more feedback specifically to how I should train if I repost it here? I also tried to figure out the training plan feature on this site but all I got was a lot of directions with nothing I could click to actually go through with the process. :-/ I'm going for a half iron man because I like distance, more of a challenge, but don't think I'm ready for a full this year... Here's where I stand: currently: -running 45-50mpw, racing 5K's-half marathons [did a marathon last year, another scheduled this fall] -spinning 1-3 days a week -swimming: just getting back into it [cold and boring-this is the toughie for me!] long term goals: -do a half iron man at the end of the summer -maybe work towards a full if/when I have time to dedicate my life to training the way I so long to! immediate goals:
-increase my swimming to 2-3 days a week of 1-2 miles -get a bike that fits [current one hurts my knees] and start training outside -join the tri club for brik workouts, support, and quasi-coaching I hope I can get to know some of you here and join the community as well! Feel free to let me know what you think of my goals and offer any advice how I might reach them |
