Run
Comments: Started off a little quick and decided to "run" with it! Focused on keeping my breathing even and easy. Tried to keep the stride length short and increase my leg turn over. The first 10k I ran with a good BT buddy (gogglespizean) We keep a brisk pace over the 10k. Second 10k I thought I may want to slow it up a little...but my legs felt good and my breathing was in control so I figured I would just concentrate on staying relaxed and "run" with it! My Garmin told me that I have had a chance to break 2h and I let it out on the last 1.5k...I finished with no gas in the tank, I even had half ass effort of a sprint to the line!! Not a bad race at all. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Post race
Warm down: I walked around drank some water, visited the recovery tent and had a couple of pancakes, a 1/4 bagel and some yogurt....oh ya and 2 chocolate chip cookies! I kept drinking water and hit a porta-potty. Changed into the riding gear and rode home. (nice active recovery!) What limited your ability to perform faster: nothing...I was mucho happy with my attitude and focus...I could have slowed, but I didn't! Last updated: 2009-01-09 12:00 AM

woke up at 5:30 am, had a shower and 2 cups of coffee. Ate 2 pieces of toast and PB. drank some water. Layered up for the ride to Assiniboine Park (18k) from our house. It was -9 when I left at 6:30 am
Locked the bike up and had a nice little rest at a picnic table...changed into my shorts and shoes. Checked my pannier, seat and helmet into the dry clothes tent. Hit the washroom and chatted with some buddies.
