Subject: Kitsap county open water swims
Hello everyone,
I am still new to the site and not quite sure how to do a search.
I live in Bremerton/Silverdale area and need a good place to do some open water swims. I am doing the "Big Event" olympic tri at Ocean Shores on July 11th. I have done the mile swim in a local pool multiple times but have yet to do it in open waters. I don't have a wetsuit and am not going to be getting one any time soon so I need a place that I can do it without one. Any suggestions?? Let me know, thanks.

Wildcat Lake is where the Kitsap Tribabes do their open water swims. It is a nice lake with no motorized boat traffic and a public park for access to the water. The Kitsap Tribabes is a loose training group of beginners, intermediates and experienced women training for sprint tri. I am not sure of the distance out into the lake. I have just started training with them, we swim around the markers for the official swim area- 5 laps around the 5 poles = 1/2 mile.
