Any words of wisdom or experiences from the Dragonfly Triathlon in Sardis?  My wife and I are planning on doing it this weekend (it will be our first tri) and are getting excited!

Any info that anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

I have never done the race - I will be there. From others I have heard that there is only one hill on the bike and one HILL on the run. The hill on the run is supposed to be HUGE.

Thanks for the reply!  After living in the MS delta for 2 years now I'm not sure I'm still aware of the term "hill",  but I have heard of them before and am excited to see what they look like

See you at the race!

I had forgotten that race was last weekend.  Glad y'all got the race in.  Those storms were freaking nuts.  I was up in Memphis for a wedding and spent all day Saturday morning cutting and removing downed trees from my wife's grandparents' yard.

Well, given it was my first triathlon (and racing in the clydesdales), I was pretty happy with the results.  However, I had a few rookie errors that certainly slowed me down, such as leaving my water bottle in the car (no water the entire race until mile 1 of the run!) and smushing my gel out on my handlebars as I embarked on the bike.  Furthermore, I certainly need to get some aero-bars for my bike before the next race.

As you can tell by my results, I am a far superior swimmer to the other legs; however, as I was standing around looking for instructions for the start the horn blew and there I was standing around 30yds behind the lead swimmers as they took off.  So, I know I coule of went an easy 30 seconds faster than that, if not quite a bit more.

I had a blast and can't wait for the Heart 'o Dixie!

Hah!  I left my water in the car at my first race, too.  Luckily it was only a 200 yard swim and 8 mile bike.
