garmin edge 705 and powertap

My father in law is interested in buying the 705 to go with his new powertap, so the family is gonna chip in for fathers day . My question is which bundle do you buy if you will be using it with a powertap? Do you need the HR strap and cadence? Also not sure if he need the maps? He will most likely be creating routes on map my ride and then uploading them into the 705.
