What would you do differently?: relax and draft more ![]() Transition 1
Comments: T1 was long because it was super cold and windy out, so I had to put on 3 layers as well as socks that came up to my knees, as well as an ear-warmer and gloves. What would you do differently?: I need to learn to jump on the bike. That slowed me down. Practice the order I want to do things. ![]() Bike
Comments: The wind was the kicker. It really slowed me down and fatigued me. What would you do differently?: keep cadence high, maybe push a little more on the flats. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: T2 was slow for me because you were supposed to get off you bike AT the entrance...no running with bike. Another woman in front of me was taking her sweet time and even crossed my path without looking so I had to wait for her to get out of the way. What would you do differently?: Nothing really ![]() Run
Comments: Only had 1 water stop at mile 2- i wished for water sooner than that! legs felt ok after the first mile, during 1st mile i felt like my steps were so tiny! What would you do differently?: Not rely on heartrate monitor-I saw my HR was high and walked a little to try to bring it down. Should have just pushed through for such a short run. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Walked to the locker room What limited your ability to perform faster: WIND, COLD, INEXPERIENCE! Event comments: Extremely well organized for an innaugural race. GREAT for first-timers with a separate first-timer award category...I won 1st in my age group out of the first timers!!! Everyone was friendly, helpful, great hot post-race food, awesome door prizes in the drawings, the only bad thing was the weather and it was just a random cold front so next year will probably be better! It sure could not get too much worse. I would do it again and highly recommend for anyone wanting to do their 1st tri or to get an early start on the season. Last updated: 2005-04-18 12:00 AM
