Age Group Rank = 3/3
Pre-race routine:

NOTE: ALL TIMES EXCEPT THE FINAL FINISH TIME ARE ESTIMATES BASED OFF OF PHOTOS TAKEN OF ME AT THE START, T1, BIKE, T2, AND RUN. THEY ARE PRETTY ACCURATE, BECAUSE WHEN THEY ARE ADDED UP, THEY EQUAL THE FINAL TIME
Drove to the course, and ate a clif bar!
Event warmup:

took a dip in the lake about 10 minutes before the start
Swim
  • 12m
  • 804 meters
  • 01m 29s / 100 meters
Transition 1
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

This was the first time I got to ride my bike in the transition area. The race was so small that it was allowed. I was totally stoked when I found out. My T1 was a little slow, but I was having fun!
Bike
  • 34m 25s
  • 12.43 miles
  • 21.67 mile/hr
Comments:

I absolutely flew on the bike! this is the fastest I have ever gone through a rolling course!
What would you do differently?:

go faster!
Transition 2
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

I forgot to turn my bike computer off so I turned around after going about 15 yards from it. I didn't mind, I was still having fun!
What would you do differently?:

not forget to turn the bike computer off!
Run
  • 57m
  • 5 miles
  • 11m 24s  min/mile
Comments:

OMG!!! the course was not properly marked to distinguish the long course vs. the short course. There was a fork in the road, the left was the long course, the right was the short course. I ended up going down the long course path. Because of this, I ended up going about 2 extra miles. Hence the 5 mile run distance. It was supposed to be a 5k. I was kind of mad. I didn't have a watch, so I didn't realize how long it was taking me to get back! I have ITBS, and just got some new orthotics and tried running. I did more of a shuffle than run. I would shuffle for a little, than walk. It felt great. I didn't hurt at all. It is a big improvement over last race where I walked the 5k at a 15:00/mile pace!
What would you do differently?:

NOT GET LOST! :-P
Post race
Warm down:

Ate lunch!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

ITBS... Again!

Event comments:

The run course needs to be marked clearly, if at all!! and there needs to be more volunteers on the run course.
