I'm signed up to do the 70.3 in Cancun and I'm having trouble figuring out the best way to ship my bike.  Tri transport doesn't look like its going to support the race.  The airlines charge a $100 fee each way and then won't even guarantee that my bike will be allowed on the flight in there are cargo weight issues.  I thought about just shipping it UPS, but then I'm worried about it sitting in the hotel in Cancun before I get there.

Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone has done the race, would love to hear some feedback.

What airline?  I know Jetblue is only $50 each way and USAirways lets you bring the bike for free if you are a USAT member.  Worth the $39 right there.  I think you need a voucher from USAir first.  Seems like FedEx is cheaper than UPS.  I am doing some research myself for Vineman.  Good luck.

AA is a total rip off.  Charged me $100 each way to Orlando and I am an Executive Platinum with 2 million miles.

I would contact JorgeM. I have read a few of his reports in the past and he seems to have a good understanding of the race/area. He might have some helpful info and he seems like somebody willing to help.
