Champion 26509 Sydney | Subject: Saxobank Welcome to the Tour De France, Your team line up for this year is: Jens joblin kaqphin krisseer latestarter losta mesteren MrWrite Sulcus TexOma
Saxobank will be led this year by genuine tour contenders, brother Andy and Frank Schleck. The line up of the team includes Time Trial specialist Cancellara (Spartacus) and hard men Stuart O'Grady and Jens Voigt as support riders who proved last years they can drive the pace on the front of the peloton for hours and hours, day after day... causing a lot of hurt for the other contenders.
Just a quick reminder that the challenge rules are posted in the original sign up thread but if there are any queries please let me know! Also... the one rule I need to remind you about is NO posting of information from the live Tour De France in team threads until AT LEAST 24 hours after it has occurred. This is to allow people to watch repeats or time delayed coverage without having their viewing destroyed by knowing the end result! Have a great July... no doubt I will pop in occassionally. Extreme Veteran 608 Iceland | Subject: RE: Saxobank First of all Happy 4th of July to all the Americans My name is Steffi and I am German but I also live in Iceland. Biking here is usually pretty challenging due to the weather but you get used to it I guess lol I started the challenge with a nice, easy and very short bike ride today (as part of a brick) as I have an Olympic Distance Practice Trial coming up tomorrow. Right now I am training for HIM Iceland which will be held on August 8th and during the next 3 weeks I will do some of my longest bike rides ever. It sure scares me... Happy biking everyone

Extreme Veteran 335 Herriman, Utah | Subject: RE: Saxobank Wahoo, GO SAXO! I'm excited to be on this team again. My name is Jody and I live in Utah. We kicked off our Fourth of July celebration early this morning with a very fun community bike ride called the "Tour of Riverton" (a nearby city). It was about 25 miles, and I was rewarded for climbing 1,200 feet with a strawberry ice cream bar along the way. YUM! (Must remind myself that I'll never lose all the weight I want to if I eat ice cream DURING RIDES, haha!) It's been fun reading about my new teammates, so let's keep the communication lines open! Have fun out there, and let's go win us a little Tour de France! |

Master 1675 Kitchener | Subject: RE: Saxobank Hi everyone. My name is Anne and I live in Kitchener, Ontario. I have never participated in a challenge before or been too involved in posting on threads but hope to learn fast. Did my first try-a-tri 5 years ago August, having learned to swim a couple of months before that. I did my first Olympic distance a couple of weeks ago and tomorrow I am doing my first 1/2 ironman swim/bike in Peterborough. I know I will finish SOMETIME tomorrow! Does biking in a race count toward the challenge? Looking forward to getting to know everyone and excited to be part of a team. |

Veteran 369 Fairbanks | Subject: RE: Saxobank Hey Team My name is Kristina, and I live in Fairbanks, Alaska. I'm pretty new to triathlons - I started running (again) last month, and have not biked in many years. I had been planning to join this challenge by borrowing a friend's bike, but yesterday I went to my LBS and completely caved. So I have a brand new bicycle for our Tour De France challenge!! I'm signed up for 9 stages and 300 minutes. Got the first one in this morning during a 30 minute test-ride to work. |

We'll be looking for your race report . And, we should probably check with somebody official, but yeah I'm pretty sure that your biking tomorrow will count as a stage. I don't think there are any bonuses for racing during this challenge, but you can log it and include it as a part of your overall totals. |
