Subject: RE: Taper frequency FAQI know that plenty of Sprint training plans call for a 1-2 week taper, but I don't think you really need to taper much for a race as short as a Sprint. N=1 but my body needs to keep working or I seem to lose conditioning (at least it feels that way ) so I will do my training as normal for the week, but cut back intensity starting Thursday and rest on Friday (if the race is Saturday ). Also - You have two races close together. That's great - I love to race-to-train. But, is the second one more important? If so, I wouldn't taper for the first race (except to take off the day before ). |
