Subject: Converting a wetsuit?

Ok, tried a search, couldn't find anything. Some of you may remember my horrific wetsuit sleeve tear pictures. Well, since everyone told me I was screwed, I might as well try to convert it into a sleeveless.

Anyone have any experience with this? My thought is that since neoprene isn't woven, I should just be able to cut it, and it won't unravel. Seems like it would be OK as long as I reinforce the edge after the cut....

Thoughts?

Just cut the arms as you wish. No need to reinforce anything after the cut.

I've not done it at the shoulders and have no idea how that would work, but I have cut off at the ankles past the seam tape. I think seams would be the problem with unravelling so I believe you would need some seam tape and glue to ensure that the wetsuit doesn’t tear at the seam. Apply a little glue and allow it to dry before you put on the seam tape.
