Has anyone else experienced neck pain that radiates down the arm and up to the head, perhaps from stepping up distance to quickly in biking and swimming?  Ironically, I thought the X +  10% training increase was to prevent such injuries involving the knees, hips, ankles, hamstrings, achiles.....who would have thought I would have hurt my neck...but that's the way injuries go...they get you where and when you least expect it.

I'd recommend seeing a chiropractor in case you knocked something out of alignment.

I also get neck pain but that is from the long rides and trying to look up to see the road. I have never had any arm pain though. That could be either muscles or vertebrate pinching a nerve and that might cause you to have radiating pain. What is the pain like? Sharp, throbbing, numb, or burning? Either way I would talk to a doc.

I have an old herniated disc at c6-c7, which is likely the etiology of the pain.  But, I suspect the long bike rides of which I'm relatively unaccustomed re-ignited the problem.   I have seen a sports med doc and have been on steroids and a patch.

Perhaps the flare up is unrelated to tri training.....?  Thanks for your comments....
