teenagers doing triathlons?

Theres a few.  Here in South Carolina, most races will have less than ten teenagers in them.  However, many of them are fast.  I'm 25, and still noticably younger than most people at tri's.  That said, go for it!

I think the reason for less teens at races is because their involved in other things in high school or college.  Plus, as you'll quickly learn, triathlon can turn into quite the expensive hobby.

I think you'll find more teens doing sprints.  In fact, at a race I did a few weeks ago, there was a kid that was 11 that finished.

You'll find that the teens are typically much slower than the 30-45 year old age group, with the exception of the run if you are a strong cc runner.

Plenty of teens doing races. The 10th overall finisher at Festival of Flowers in Greenwood was a 12 year old.

Awesome, glad to see you're going to race.  Have fun with it, and let your parents know that they need to start putting money away for you to keep racing.
