ILRA August 23; Wetsuit?

I can't tell the future, but I'll go ahead and suggest you start training without it. 

I second the get ready to swim without one emotion.  However, (and this might sound nuts) when I did Kensington a few weeks ago, it was the easiest swim I have had of my 5 sprints.  It is "good" water.  Kent Lake is VERY mellow and I killed it in the water.  For Kensington, the temps was 77 or 1 degree off wetsuit legal.  As a FWIW, Element Events did a GREAT job with Kensington and I have no doubt this will be great too.  I'll be in Colorado doing the Copper Mountain 1/2 Marathon that weekend or I'd be there too.  I am IN for their 3 race series next year.  One more BTW, if you want to get a feel for the lake, do one of the two remaining T-Rex Wednesday Night Tris.  I'm in for next week's.

I guess I'm just getting nervous about the swim and looking for a "crutch" if you will.  I just need to suck it up and get out there and swim more.

I will be there. This is my first so I am nervous about the entire thing!!!!

I figure if I don't drown I can at least limp through the other two events.

I did the race last year and was able to wear my wetsuit, so anything is possible!

How about we split a pair of water wings???

With the way the weather has been this year it may frost by then and water temps could be much lower. or it could be 100 and no way you will want to wear one. Gotta love Michigan.
