Tagging issues

Lately, for maybe the past two weeks, I've been noticing some weird lag time in getting tags to work. I see it particularly on strike and img tags. The strike will sometimes show the actual tags, so my post looks like

only I haven't put spaces in. Then, several hours or the next day later, it might actually show up correctly.

With img tags, I'll use the [ img=http ://verylongwebaddress.blah] and it doesn't show up anything at all. Then, again several hours or a day later, the pic will FINALLY show up.

Ideas? I've tried refreshing, I've tried shutting down the site and re-entering, I've tried posting the image somewhere else (it happens mostly in my blog, so I might try some random thread and look in preview, and it is there), but it seems like just waiting it out is the only option. Never had this problem before, so wondering if it is on my end or BT's. Thanks!
