Well I dont have an HRM yet so I am not putting my faith 100% on the bike but I noticed when I am on a stationary bike I put it on level 11 which is good resistance and puts me averaging about 18 mph. I do not get winded at all and the highest my HR goes is like 108. What do I need to do to get my HR above 120? Should I lower the level and raise my cadence? My legs seem to give out way before I get my HR to my target. I go for 45-55 minutes a time.

Does the bike measure RPM? I'm not really sure about the distance measurements/ heart rate readings on those bikes sometimes...I have been on them before in winter with my IPOD on not even touching the sensors and they come up with readings...I tend to focus on RPM when I am on the bike. Assuming the bike resistances go up to 20-25, if you are at an 11 your heart rate should get up there unless your cadence is too low...I would suggest maybe lowering it a few levels and trying to keep your RPM above 90...I would normally use a resistance of 7-9 with a RPM of 90-110 and my heart rate will be around 140-150 pretty quickly...

Ok so what you are saying is I am increasing resistance but not building up my endurance. I think my rpm's range from 70-80 tops. I will up the rpms and see how long I go. I am assuming it will have a much different result. I am still new to this and I am use to weight training where you just go heavy and go hard.
