This should be a very exciting stage.  4 riders within 38 seconds of each other vying for a podium spot and LA less than a minute behind Andy Schleck.  Hopefully we will see a number of strong performances.

They're saying that it's very, very windy on Mt. Ventoux today. Wonder if the fans lining the road offer some protection?

Wonder how close that fire is to the route. Got the plane out to dump water on it.

Hi Gorgeous. I started with about 85km to go. Congratulations on picking Cav yesterday. You must have had a feeling. I would have put money on a 15 min breakaway staying away.

just read your posts. Think you held back a bit. Well, I was right about a big breakaway by the time my TV coverage came on. Rabobank spoilt it all. So how did you know Cav could get over that Cat 2 climb like that?

8' + is qiute an advantage at the moment. I see Garate's in the break. I pick him a few times & he does nothing. Left it till today hasn't he.

Honesty? I didnt...

I knew he wanted 8 stage wins... I had a feeling that given the sprinters hadnt been able to do much for a few days that the finish looked ok for a showdown after the climb....

And given everything that had happened, and with the not getting Green... that if it was a showdown Cav would be trying everything to get there....

Funny part is that had nothing to do with the race... (wink wink)

Hey everyone.  I had a great workout this morning.  I'm Mr. Mom for the rest of the day.  I'm just getting caught-up.  At 80km to go right now.

I predict 2 people will die on the ventoux...  Hate to be a purveyor of doom, but it's gonna happen...

Got this message from my mate.

Jerry did his Ventoux challenge, 140km with 4800mtrs ascent, said it was "horrible" and really hard, and that's for a 67kg Whippet.

Our friend Jerry went up Mt Ventoux from all three ascents in one day. Seems there's a select club for those that's done it. Don't think I'll be joining them.

Is there any way for Cav to get green in Paris?  I mean a legitimate reason?  Thor has to finish like 20 or higher right?

Just wait till tomorrow.  I live in the flatlands.  If I don't average over 20, I'm slacking.  You've got hills to contend with.  Got a 40 miler tomorrow.  That's the standard Sunday ride.

Don't know how anyone, much less Saxo, can sustain that pace....they are FLYING up the hill...

And I'm not sure how you get that many people on one road. That's out of control amazing. I bet they're out of toilet paper, too....
