Subject: Power Pump Pro
After buying Yams old Cervelo this year I also had to get a new pump. After doing some research and despite some negative reviews I put the Power Pump Pro on my wish list of things to have and received it as a birthday present back in June.

Well today was the first day I got to use it. I use to have an old pump that fit underneath the length of the top tube and that pump worked great for me for almost 20 years until I sold it along with my 1989 Trek 1000. The old pump just wasn't going to look very fashionable on a new Cervelo P2.

So I blew out the back tire on a decent no less when I hit a patch of gravel from some road construction. No big deal, I got spares and my new Power Pump Pro. Got the old tube out and put a little air in the new tube before putting it back in the rim and all was good.  Put the bead back on and put the Power Pump back on the valve and turned it to the presta valve, made sure it was also set to High Volume first to get the initial air.  After pumping for a couple of minutes I was only at 30 pounds of pressure. That is not good. I switched to the high pressure setting and was able to get another 10 pounds in but that was about it. Tried switching it back and forth to High Volume and Pressure with no luck.  Just couldn't get any more air. 40lbs of air would be OK for a mountain bike but not a Tri Bike.

I am extremely disappointed with this product.  Basically having the same problem I read about in all the negative reviews of this product. People just can't get enough air pressure. I have spent the last year and a half of my life trying to be environmentally friendly by cycling to work when schedules permit and not using CO2. I guess I am finally going to have to switch to CO2 for the first time.
