Anyone know if there are any places I can swim in the open water to train?  I mostly train at the YMCA, but I'd like to do some open waters.  Any help is appreciated...

Seeing as Belmar is a shore town, they have a beach that is guarded every day from Memorial Day until Labor day from 9-5, along with almost every town north and south of there. Outside of those times, the beach is unguarded, but you can still swim. Additionally, there appears to be a small area of the Manasquan reservoir that is open to swimming; I've noticed the buoys when I biked by, but have never seen people in.There are also a number of ocean mile swims in the area, which are a great way to get a long OWS in - you can find them on raceforum.com. The ones that are left:8/2: Seaside and Monmouth beach each have one8/8: Lavallette8/16: Belmer 8/23: Long Branch
