Subject: Wet Shoes and Shin Splint issues
So after my olympic this weekend, I had two issues that I'm not sure what I can do about.

It seems when I race I have shin pain when I start to run off the bike. I never get this in training. I had to stop and stretch them out for a while, and then they started to loosen up, but the first 3k was quite painful. So what am I doing differently in a race that I don't do in training that causes shin pain. I've held the same paces in training as in races to see if that's the issue, but I don't seem to have a problem.

Other issue was the rain. My feet don't seem to get along well with wet shoes. I wear double layer socks and never have blister issues unless I get very wet feet. Then I'm done. Even in a 10k run, I ended up with a good blood blister on each foot. My worry is what do I do if it's raining in a longer race. I'm not sure how I could have completed a 1/2 Iron due to my feet during this weekend's olympic.

In Louisville last year, I managed to get my feet soaked trying to keep cool and finished that race with the largest blister I've ever seen. It crippled me for a good week after.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
