Sorry, I won't be anle to ride/run the course with you but I just drove the bike route at lunch and here is my take for those interested:

The main part of the course is pretty flat south of the beach to the turnaround and back.  Going north from the beach, it is a gradual incline up to Ravine Drive.  The incline is so slight in general you might not even notice it much.  Once you turn onto Ravine though it is a whole different story.  That street is all uphill and it is a pretty steep grade.  When you get to the top it is flat until you get back onto Lincoln Memorial Drive where it is a pretty good downhill until you get to where Ravine Drive is.  As I said about the way there, the way back to the beach is a slight downhill so the speed you get on the downhill should be able to be carried over to the beach area.

As for the run, the website says that the course goes "up the hill to a set of steps that lead to a county bike trail".  These steps are pretty long (40-50 yards?) and steep and not that wide so I can see problems with crowding and also if your legs are wobbly on the way back you better be very careful going down those steps.  I have biked on the trail though and it is very nice and is a flat trail once you are on it.
