I have my first tri tomorrow and am very nervous and anxious, all in one. I have competed in powerlifting and strongman for years, so "competing" is nothing new. But I tell you, I feel like a little kid with all the nerves going already. Probably because this is all new to me and out of my comfort zone. I had a hard time with this taper week as I felt I should have been doing more but some of my friends that do tris said I will be happy that I backed off. I still hit the weights pretty hard but cut my tri workouts in half.
Anyway, sorry to ramble, I am just very excited to get out there. I am sure I will have alot of things to learn after tomorrow.

This is completely normal and probably will not stop until the swim start. And then you just go out and have fun!!

Good luck!

Relax and have a great time. There will only be one "first tri" so enjoy it. You will be fine. Just get there early and try to get an outside rack spot in the transition area. Lay everything out in the order you will use it.

Just relax.  You know the deal, the minute the horn goes off you'll be in the zone or whatever.  When you come out of the water, you're going to get a boost of confidence, and from there just remember to take it all in.

Eh, I have been racing for 5 years now... and I STILL get nervous the morning of a race.

I have done ALL the distances... and yet, a sprint had my thighs shaking just last weekend!

Enjoy the day and have fun! Good luck!

Congrats. Just stay relaxed and all will be well. Personally I need to make sure I'm calm and really focus through the swim (which happens to be my strongest leg but I tend to get excited). Like the other poster said, once you exit the water you will get such a RUSH!!! You'll be hooked!
